Smartwatch Calendar App
Objective
The objective for this project was to develop an annual calendar specific to a chosen place on earth. The calendar was required to include every day of the Gregorian Calendar for the year 2020 and temporal information specific to the place.
The calendar was also to include:
Name of your chosen place
Latitude and Longitude
Sunrise and sunset times across the year
Average temperature by month or any other organizing date system
At least 5 events (holidays, important historical dates, etc.) specific to that place
Topic

Research
The next step in my process was to research smartwatch apps and requirements. I was able to find Human Interface Guidelines on the Apple Developer website that laid out specific guidelines for layout, App icons, typography, etc, which I used to direct my own designs.
Consumer demographics were examined to decide how best to design layouts for the app features, as well as to appeal to target users. Research showed that there is an increasing number of consumers aged 55+ (baby boomers) as well as a significant amount of Gen Xer’s for the Apple watch’s health features, such as the EKG app.
